چکیده
Currently, additive manufacturing is utilized to fabricate many different actuators suited for soft robots. However, an effective controller paradigm essential benefit from the advantages of robots in terms power consumption, production costs, weight, and safety while operating near living systems. In this work, artificial muscle additively manufactured with silicone elastomer material capable demonstrating several levels stiffness. The 3D-printed equipped carbon fibers receive a stimulus signal develop programmable joint that can present stiffnesses. A nonlinear developed autonomously control variable stiffness based on reinforcement learning algorithm. exhibits slight increase settling time; however, it demonstrates decrease fluctuation amplitude by 33% substantial reduction consumption 41% comparison optimized proportional integral derivative controller. At same time, adaptable reliable new conditions. also used as controllable mechanism suppress low frequency vibration. study shows successfully attenuate vibration when increased.

Robust Control Law for Pneumatic Artificial Muscles
This paper presents a modified integral sliding surface, sliding mode control law for pneumatic artificial muscles. The cutoff frequency tuning parameter λ is squared to increase the gradient from absement (integral of position) to position and higher derivatives to reflect the more dominant terms in the actuator dynamics. The sliding mode controller is coupled with proportional and integral ac...
متن کاملControl architecture of LUCY, a Biped with Pneumatic Artificial Muscles
This paper describes the biped Lucy and it’s control architecture that will be used. Lucy is actuated by Pleated Pneumatic Artificial Muscles, which have a very high power to weight ratio and an inherent adaptable compliance. These characteristics will be used to let Lucy walk in a dynamically stable manner while exploiting the adaptable passive behaviour of these muscles. A quasi-static global...
متن کاملVibration Control of Underwater Blasting Works using Artificial Neural Networks
To allow the access of larger ships (Panamax class) to the interior docks of an important harbour in Portugal, a large volume of submerged rock had to be blasted. The harbour is surrounded by a densely populated urban area and the authors of this work were hired to monitor vibrations caused by the blasts. Macro-seismometers were installed in several locations inside the harbour perimeter and in...
متن کاملMotor Control of a Limb Segment Actuated by Artificial Muscles
In this article we present a biologically inspired motor control scheme based on sensory-motor interaction modalities within the Central Nervous System, and its application to the control of a single joint limb segment actuated by two pneumatic McKibben muscles. The embedded Artificial Neural Network (ANN) module's architecture, whose functioning is regulated by reinforcement learning, is simil...
متن کاملSoft Robotics: Cerebellar Inspired Control of Artificial Muscles
Soft robots have the potential to greatly improve human-robot interaction via intrinsically safe, compliant designs. However, new compliant materials used in soft robotics – artificial muscles – are fabricated with poor tolerances and have time-varying dynamics. Therefore, a key technical challenge is to develop adaptive control algorithms for these materials. Here, we take a novel bioinspired ...
